In a move that is sure to please investors, Snapchat (SNAP) has announced a new suite of ad buying tools designed to build momentum in its fledgling ad division.

Not long ago, if you wanted to advertise on Snapchat, you had to be willing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on custom campaigns, video ads and sponsored geofilters.

In an announcement earlier this week, Snapchat has revealed a suite of self service ad buying tools that make it "brain dead easy" to create a new campaign.

Starting this June, Snap is opening it's platform to advertisers of all sizes and budgets with a suite of self-service tools designed to remove any friction keeping advertisers away.

The new ads manager will let any advertiser buy, manage, and view reporting for their campaigns across all ad formats, including app install ads, geofilters, and video. These are all to be made available alongside goal-based bidding and targeting capabilities with the tool to be free to use and requiring no minimum ad spend.

I had a play around with Snapchat's geofilters tool and had a simple boxing theme setup within minutes. The only sticking point was the delay for Snapchat to approve my design which took more than 8 hours, making the whole experience a little slow and clunky.
